Karui is a full-length mirror in a light oak wood frame, held upright by a single diagonal leg that forms an A-frame with the mirror itself - no wall mounting, no separate base plate, just the frame leaning back on its own support. The top corners flare out slightly where the frame meets, the only real flourish on an otherwise plain rectangle. There's a version of a full-length mirror with stand that most people picture by default - a frame, a hinge, two splayed legs at the base. Karui skips that entirely. The support is one diagonal leg running from the floor up to the back of the frame, forming a triangle with the mirror instead of bolting a separate stand onto it. It's a simpler mechanism, and it's also most of what you notice about the piece from the side.
-
Where the Frame Actually Does Something: The frame itself stays narrow and mostly unadorned โ no carving, no beading, nothing added for the sake of it. The one place it breaks from a plain rectangle is at the top corners, where the wood flares out just slightly before meeting, like the frame is gesturing rather than stopping abruptly. It's a small detail, but on a piece this pared back, it's doing the work that a fuller design would spread across the whole frame.
-
Oak, Left to Look Like Oak: The wood is left in a natural, light finish - no stain pushing it darker, no whitewash softening the grain. That keeps the oak wood full-length mirror looking like a piece of furniture made from a single honest material, which matters more on a design this stripped down than it would on something already carrying a lot of visual weight.
-
A Freestanding Mirror That Doesn't Need a Wall: Because the stand is built into the lean rather than added on, this works as a genuinely freestanding mirror - lean it against a wall for extra stability, or let the A-frame hold it upright on its own in the middle of a room. Either way, there's nothing to drill and nothing to mount.
- Sized for Dressing, Built for Small Rooms: As a full body mirror with stand, it does the standard job - a full-length check before you leave the room - but the narrow footprint and light frame make it a reasonable fit for smaller bedrooms or dressing corners where a heavier floor mirror would feel like too much furniture for what it does.
